A Story from Orlando

In the heart of Orlando, at SALT Ministries, a memorable event began to unfold as Samaritan's Feet International and Elevation Church Orlando came together to serve those in need. The excitement was evident as people has been waiting outside since 8am that morning. Amongst the long line and large crowd, there was a man experiencing homelessness struggling to find relief for his aching feet.

The man had walked to the distribution barefoot, no shoes at all.

Seeing this and hearing he was in pain, volunteers quickly attended to him, providing a chair for him to sit in. With care and compassion, a volunteer washed his feet and offered prayers. The man shed tears of gratitude and said a gentle "thank you.”

In that moment, the volunteers began to realize the power of the mission, which extended beyond the gift of shoes. By showing love and compassion, the volunteers had touched this man's life in a profound way, offering hope and comfort to a soul in need. The small act of kindness and generosity of shoes might have been an answer to his prayers.

For many, shoes may be a fashion statement, but for this man, they were his means of safety and transportation. By providing him with a new pair, the volunteers had given him more than just footwear; they had given him a chance to experience love, hope, and care.
