Empowering Kids at Kicking Bear Camp
Recently, the Kicking Bear camp held at La Crosse Pizza Ranch in La Crosse, WI provided an unforgettable experience for underprivileged children from single-family homes or families with incarcerated parents. The event was so heartwarming as children were welcomed with open arms and given a day filled with activities, love, and support.
As the children checked in, they made their way to our station, where our team served 150 attendees by washing their feet, fitting them with new shoes, and encouraging them. The joy and gratitude on their faces were truly touching.
Once fitted with their new shoes, the children eagerly explored the various stations set up outside. Activities included archery, axe throwing, sling shots, sack races, sidewalk chalk, and a craft center. It was an absolute delight to watch these kids try out all the activities, gaining confidence and finding success in each one.
The Kicking Bear camp provided a safe and supportive environment for these children to learn, play, and grow. It was a day filled with laughter, new friendships, and valuable life lessons. Witnessing their joy and confidence grow throughout the day was an experience we will cherish forever.
