Special Delivery for Homebound Seniors
At the Cherokee County Senior Center in Murphy, NC, a special event unfolded: new shoes were given out in the usual manner at the facility, but volunteers also extended their reach beyond the center’s walls, delivering shoes to about 20 homebound seniors. These new shoes were more than just a gift; they were a lifeline, designed to keep the seniors safe from falls within their homes.
Denise, overseeing the distribution, shared that the recipients were thrilled with their new anti-slip shoes. This heartwarming event was made possible through a partnership with the Southwestern Commission on Aging, marking the second successful distribution held at the center.
