Through the Eyes of the Lead Warehouse Associate
Our Lead Warehouse Associate, David Buckman, wanted to share a few heartfelt words with you about how your donations turn into shoes that are sent around the world. David’s role in our warehouse is to ensure orders of shoes are packed and ready, so check out his unique perspective:
Welcome to your journey through our beloved home: the warehouse of the helpful organization of Samaritan's Feet! Although there are plenty of things that go into creating our success (whether that be marketing, development, logistics, or a handful of globally active field workers), this is a story about the warehouse.
Our complex shoe citadel is a vast land hidden by shoes, boots, and slides. A warehouse fed through the helpful hands of many corporate partners, donors, and you. It's because of you, the viewer, the caring, and the donors that every day, less children go without shoes! Through your help, our goal of serving our 10 millionth person in 2023 will become real! How do you help out? Well, let me explain:
Your donations allow us to bring in shoes into our warehouse, then, depending on the style of footwear, it is separated and organized by one of our dedicated volunteers and then added to our inventory system. From there, your shoe waits while our field staff coordinates finding those in need and creates a shoe shipment order for the warehouse team. Next is where your shoe really shines, as it, along with many other donations, is packed in a box through the efforts and careful picking of our warehouse staff. Your shoe then loads up and travels through the states or overseas, until it's finally met with its final owner—another person who will have a defense against foot-born illnesses, all thanks to you and our staff at Samaritan's Feet!
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
