Why We Do What We Do

We recently hosted a fundraising event in Colorado Springs, CO where this impactful story was shared by a local principal:

We have a homeless population at our school and of course the needs are high for those families. Just this week, a little boy came to school and had gym class that day. Unfortunately, the shoes he had on were his father’s slippers which were obviously way too big and would not allow him to participate in gym class. The PE teacher quickly saw the need and to alleviate any embarrassment for the student, made him his special “helper for the day” in class. Word got back to myself and one of the teachers jumped into action. She went to Walmart at lunch and purchased a pair of shoes for the little boy. By the end of the day, he received those shoes to wear home in place of dad’s slippers.

We wanted to share this story with our Sole Society members because it serves as a reminder of how your generosity will help others. Samaritan’s Feet is so grateful for your continued support!
