A Special Pair of Shoes in Baltimore

The shoe distribution with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in Baltimore at Mary Ann Winterling Elementary was full of energy: there was a DJ playing fun music, CIAA student-athletes dancing, and lots of smiles amongst the 500+ students’ faces. The day was also a time for the students to experience joy, on what may have been a tough week for them.

Just a few days prior to the shoe distribution, a pre-schooler named Camille passed away. The school already had a memorial area in her honor, so the CIAA and Samaritan’s Feet decided to leave something as well.

A blue pair of tennis shoes were set aside for Camille and students were able to sign the shoes after they were served. The shoes were left at the Elementary School and will be a part of the memorial they have set up.
